Today comenius work started at 9 o’clock and we did some group work presentations. We had lunch at 11.30. After that we wrote diaries and then we had a break. During it we listened to Moisio Steel band. The afternoon most of comenius students are doing something together. This is the last day and tomorrow the guests will be leaving.
We are in Helsinki! Early in the morning we started our trip to Helsinki. By bus we made a sightseeing tour trough the city of Helsinki. We saw the Cathedral (White Dome) where we took this great picture of our Comenius group. Before we saw the huge and amazing ships in the harbor. One of the highlight we saw was a church made of stone. After that we had lunch in a restaurant and did some shopping. We met in front of the parliament. From there we drove back home to Salo. See our pictures below! Today all children joined a lesson in school Moisio. Some of the Austrian and German kids had some dancing lessons. There also was the logo contest and Germany won the contest! (See picture below) After that we finished our group work from yesterday (working on solutions from the survey) which was quite interesting. After lunch (in school) we presented our team results. After a short break we began some new work about environmental problems. After hard work we all went to a Youth center and had a lot of fun! Monday 7th April 2014 The day started like any other: waking up, having breakfast, going to school. But the difference was that we went into a lesson with our hosts/hostesses. Suddenly we heard Finnish and Swedish sentences and a lot of interested students greeted us in the class. Some participants took part in Swedish lessons, physic lessons, sewing lessons and cooking lessons. It was a new experience for everyone, for example read Swedish texts about football. Then we met everyone else in the sports hall where a stage had been built up. The head teacher from the Moisio school greeted all the guests and students from Austria and Germany. The Austrian head teacher, Mr. Helmut Kainz and the German leader Mrs Gudrun Kirschke introduced their groups and spoke about the goals of the Comenius project to the Finnish students and teachers. At the end, we were surprised with some cultural music which was sung and played by 5 Finnish students. Then we started with the presentations. Every country was introduced. Students of all nations gave information about political systems, countryside, school system, national and regional specialties. In the auditorium not only the Comenius students listened to the reports there were also other interested Finnish students. After having lunch we got to know about the results of the survey which each school made in preparation of our meeting in Finland. We continued working on chosen questions in small international groups. The questions dealt with the topics of school environment and social cohesion. The students discussed and tried to find out solutions. That will be presented tomorrow. After working all students went bowling together. Austria:
All of the pupils were very excited! Some of them were flying for their first time. We finally arrived in Salo at 5 o´clock pm. |
